→キャラクターというと、性格や登場人物のイメージですが、Chinese characters と言えば、漢字のことで表意文字の意味もあります。ちなみに先ほどのletterは表音文字です。

→ここでは「意味」ではなく、複数扱いの名詞「財産・資力」の意味。by all means は承諾の返事「よろしいですとも」
